The 5 Big Questions a Soul Contract Reading Can Answer About Your Life

I love giving Soul Contract readings.

It’s an honour and a joy to reacquaint people with the truth of their soul – the truth they already know deep within, but are coming to me to remember and activate, so they can bring it forth into their life.

All of us are seeking answers to the meaning of our lives, for without meaning, life can feel purposeless and deeply unfulfilling to the spiritual explorers among us.

If you have a deeper craving for the truth of why you have incarnated in this lifetime, then a Soul Contract reading can give you those answers. It doesn’t give you all the answers – nothing can do that for us – but it does work like a map: guiding and supporting us along our path when we are feeling lost.

The reason why a Soul Contract reading connects so deeply is because it offers a unique framework that gives us clarity, as well as the structure, to understand how to move through the obstacles in our life – and more importantly, why those obstacles are there in the first place.

Alongside the challenges, a reading also highlights the potential you are capable of stepping into.

All of us struggle with knowing our true power, which is precisely why we are here at this time on Earth – a time of great remembering and activation. A reading is a reminder of the unique talents and gifts that you have embedded within you, which you can use to travel along your journey.

While a reading doesn’t tell you what to do, it does tell you what you are capable of doing.

I wanted to share the five big questions that most people come to me with for their reading, in the hope that it will give you a little more insight and clarity into what a Soul Contract reading can really deliver – to support your ascension and awakening journey in this lifetime.

Question 1. What is my soul purpose?

Ultimately, this question encompasses the fuller question of: “Why am I here, and what deeper meaning or mission is my soul guiding me towards in this lifetime?”

Nothing feels more frustrating to spiritual explorers seeking deeper meaning and fulfilment, than not knowing what it is they’re here to do. I’ve been there too – feeling trapped, restless, and untapped, like there was something inside of me that was desperate to be let free.

I’ve covered this question before (check out the full post here), as it’s the most common one asked – and for very good reason. We are all here with an absolute divine purpose. We are all here seeking work that fills the deeper craving of soul satisfaction, the love that brings joy and wonder to our lives, and the answers to the questions we hold in our hearts about the bigger meaning of life.

Yet, this is the question that most often trips us up. When we become fixated on what we’re here to be doing, we completely forget that we are not ‘human doings’ – we are, in fact, ‘human beings’. And this is reflected in our Soul Contract.

It doesn’t tell you what job to have, but rather shows you who you are capable of becoming. And it is through who we are, that becomes what we do. Our soul purpose is a tapestry woven across our lifetime, spun from a million threads of challenges, successes, and magical moments. It cannot be simplified into one thing – one soul purpose – because we are far more complex and magical than that.

However, if you are seeking the answer to this question, your Soul Contract will absolutely show you the lessons and challenges you are here to overcome, as well as the successes you are being invited to achieve.

And you’ll begin to see the tapestry of your existence in all of its glorious complexity and wonder.

Question 2. What lessons am I here to learn?

This leads me nicely onto the second question that many people want to understand.

The reason we want to know our lessons is mainly so we can recognise them when they arise – giving us a greater sense of understanding and much-needed clarity in those challenging moments when we feel tested by the world around us.

One of the key areas I love to explore in a Soul Contract reading is the karmic energies in your chart.

Karma isn’t something to be afraid of – it’s not negative or harmful. Instead, it shows us the challenges your soul has put in place to work through in this lifetime, so you can reach the lessons waiting for you to uncover on the other side.

There’s a saying that ‘what doesn’t break us makes us stronger’, and to an extent, this is true. We often call the karmic energies the ‘seeds of our potential’, because it’s only when we embrace them that we can begin to transmute them. After all, we hold the most wisdom from the deepest challenges in our lives.

When we know the lessons our soul wants us to explore in this lifetime, we can begin to reflect on our past experiences and start to recognise the repeating patterns that have been showing up, which can be a deeply healing and validating experience for most of us.

When we see that what we’ve gone through has been part of a bigger picture in our soul’s journey, we can begin to meet ourselves with empathy and understanding, inviting in more compassion and love for what we went through.

A huge part of our healing in this lifetime is about stepping our of self-judgement and coming into compassion and love for ourselves – even the dark and shadowy parts we struggle to accept. The more we can lean into love for ourselves, the more we can lean into love for the world. And that is the journey of many of us lightbringers in this lifetime.

Question 3. What are my gifts, and how should I be using them?

As I mentioned earlier, I love helping people develop a more loving relationship with themselves, because I know everything starts from within.

It’s only when we hold the greatest respect, compassion, and patience for ourselves that we can begin to truly offer that to the world.

One of the loveliest parts of a Soul Contract reading is introducing people to the gifts and talents their soul has chosen to bring through in this lifetime. In a reading, my job is to understand how activated those gifts are, and what might be stopping you from bringing them fully online.

A lot of us struggle to acknowledge what we’re good at – either because we haven’t fully realised it yet, we lack confidence, or we don’t want to seem arrogant. Like I mentioned earlier, your Soul Contract doesn’t tell you what job you should be doing – instead, it gives you the guidance around where your strengths truly lie. And the same goes for your gifts and talents.

We are all hugely multi-talented and incredibly unique. So, while someone might have the exact same energies in their Soul Contract talents, it doesn’t mean they’ll be using them in the same way. Your Soul Contract is a fluid map where energy is constantly flowing, peaking, and expanding – and each person’s experience is vastly different.

What we want to discover in a reading is how well you are activating your talents, and if you’re not, how we can identify and overcome the challenges to bring them more fully online.

This part of a reading is all about instilling confidence within you – a confidence often buried under limiting beliefs and programming that says, “You’re not good enough” – and reminding you of the gifts your soul has chosen for you in this lifetime.

And then, it’s up to you how you use them.

Question 4. How can I get past the obstacles in my life?

Quite often, when we’re feeling trapped or stuck, the universe gives us a nudge, and something shows up to support us. I’ve experienced this multiple times – from discovering a book that held the answers I was seeking, to finding someone who supported me in a way I didn’t know I needed.

People often discover their Soul Contract exactly when they are ready to. This is part of the divinely-orchestrated beauty of our universe. What we need is always just around the corner, waiting for the right moment to be discovered.

When we are feeling challenged by life, stuck in difficult circumstances, or struggling to navigate change, a Soul Contract reading can be a perfect accompaniment to help us understand how to move through these difficulties.

More often than not, it’s a fear of change or a lack of trust – either in ourselves or the world – that keeps us from moving forward on our path of growth. But there’s a third component, too: we sometimes lack the clarity around what’s actually in our way. And this is where a reading can be so supportive.

Sometimes we know why we’re stuck, but often we need confirmation around what our struggles actually are, and how we can work through them.

A good example of this is the 12-3 energy I have in my Soul Contract. For a long time, I was deeply impatient – not understanding why the things I wanted to achieve were taking so long to materialise. When I understood the 12-3 energy in my chart, I realised this number is all about balance – and if I lack balance, the universe will often place obstacles in my way that limit my expansion and invite me to readdress this imbalance. For me, that lovely little lesson was burnout!

It was only when I gained clarity on why the cycles of burnout kept repeating that I could begin to move through it – creating more time to rest, which ultimately helped me to expand.

Question 5. What is the right decision for me?

We’re all seeking confirmation that we’re on the right path, yet is there really such a thing as ‘right’ or ‘wrong’? In a reading, I’m often asked what the right decision is, whether it’s about leaving a job, moving home, staying in a relationship, or taking a step in a new direction.

Change is scary for all of us, yet it’s the one thing we can’t avoid. We are meant to change, constantly, even though we often strain against it and prefer to keep things just as they are.

When people ask me this question in a reading, I often reflect it back to them: “What do you intuitively feel is the best next step for you?” – because more often than not, they already know the truth deep in their hearts. It’s the mind that throws up the resistance and indecision.

If you think about a decision you made in the past that felt uncertain or frightening, chances are you’re now grateful you made it because it brought you to where you are today.

A few years ago, I made the decision to move to Cambridge and rent a flat on my own, from which I could offer my Kinesiology treatments. It was terrifying at the time, mainly due to the financial implications of renting a two-bed flat. Yet here I am still, happily ensconced, enjoying it more than ever.

Risks pay off in one way or another – whether through the lessons they teach us, the confidence they instil in us, or the new path they open up.
