Three Reasons Why You’re in a Rush to Heal (And How to Make Peace With Where You Are)

None of us need to fix ourselves - we are not broken.

We are all perfect, whole, complete and worthy. Yet, we came to earth and we forgot. We began to lose ourselves in layers upon layers of beliefs, programming, conditioning, trauma, ancestral and parental imprints.

It’s no one’s fault, and there is no one to blame. We all play the roles of perpetrator and victim, multiple lifetimes over, playing different parts to activate our own, and someone else’s, healing and return to love.

This is exactly what our time on earth is for. We are all here to create heaven on earth as we recognise our perfection, wholeness and worthiness as a spark of the Divine, yet the path there is challenging.

Earth is a school for us to learn all the possible expressions of human emotion through our relationships with others. It is not meant to be easy but we all chose to come here and we are all just doing the best we can with the tools we’ve been given.

Along the way we all experience varying degrees of traumatic experiences, some of us to a far greater degree than others.

Understanding why we have certain experiences can be seen in the Soul Contract, which shows us the energies that we are here to transmute.

Yet, only a few of us wish to engage in this process of transmutation and healing.

The impossible question

There’s many reasons why we chose to engage in the healing journey, and why others around us don’t. It is not for us to judge, only to accept. For when we realise that we can never change the people around us and that we can only change ourselves, we experience the freedom that realisation brings.

We are not meant to fix or save others. Perhaps we inspire their own awakening and shifts in consciousness, yet we are not their healers or saviours.

At the same time, we can also be too fixated on fixing and healing ourselves. When this happens we often lose sight of the joy in life. We forget that we are here to fully embrace being human and create our heaven on earth.

We forget to live.

Instead of embracing the healing journey as it is, we seek to control it and bend it to our will, which only creates disappointment, stress and anxiety when we don’t see the results in the timeframe we want. I’ve had people asking me “how long will it take to heal?” and the answer is that there is no answer to this impossible question. It simply doesn’t work like that.

Healing is not linear, it cannot be controlled by our tiny, human ego, and it cannot be forced in a specific direction. The soul releases the layers in divine order and timing, and we are only here to surrender into the healing process.

Yet, our fixation and rush to heal occurs for several reasons, which I want to explore with you now.

Rushing healing to avoid reincarnation

The first reason why we force our healing journey is because we don’t want to come back to earth. This is usually a result of experiencing so much trauma in one lifetime, that we can’t even imagine putting our soul through another life on earth.

When this happens we push, push, push our healing, trying to get as ‘clear’ as possible so we don’t have to come back and repeat any lessons.

The irony is that we all experience multiple lifetimes on earth, and we are not here to control how or when we incarnate.

If there is more for our soul to learn (as there always is) then we return. This is not a process we can control or have any knowledge about how it really works.

To be scared of coming back to earth and repeating another lifetime of abuse, trauma and suffering, is a fear programme that needs gentle love and healing. We cannot control what happens to us, but we can take command of our lives in this moment and in this lifetime.

Releasing the fear is an important part of letting our fixation on healing go, as is working on the trauma that created so much suffering in the first place. Only then, can we begin to turn our attention to the beauty and joy of life. For when we fixate on healing in order not to incarnate on earth again, we neglect to actually embrace living on earth.

Embracing our humanness is one of the hardest things for many of us, yet that is precisely what we’re here to do in this lifetime - this is our true invitation, and we are here to accept it.

Rushing healing to fulfil our purpose

The second reason why we fixate too much on our healing is due to a strong soul drive from within.

Many of us have come to earth at this point in time to help humanity in one of its darkest times. There is so much suffering in the world, and we are here to awaken, first ourselves, and then the world around us, through living the qualities of love, compassion, grace, harmony and peace.

I’ve encountered many people who have an incredibly strong drive within them to do their work.

I recognise this drive in others because I also have it. It’s hard to explain but it’s like an insatiable hunger to do the work that I came here to do, and I don’t want to be held back - by anything or anyone.

This is partly due to the strong 12-3 energy in my Soul Contract, which has an incredibly expansive nature. When we have this we are often in a rush to learn, embody and teach as much as we can before we leave the earth. I feel this so deeply as I am incredibly passionate about, and focused on, my work, almost to the point where it creates an imbalance in my life.

When we have this force within us, we sometimes have this desire to heal as quickly as possible, so we can get on with what we came to earth to do. We know we need to clear certain programming that is limiting us and getting in our way.

This can create feelings of impatience, frustration and burnout - especially from all the inner work that we’re doing, in order to be able to do the work we came here to do.

The irony is, when we burnout from all the intense healing, learning and growth, we can’t actually do our work that feels so meaningful and important to us, because we don’t have the energy.

As someone who is in a cycle of growth-work-burnout-repeat, I can really attest to how important it is to slow down. We need to make peace with the deep fear around lack of time, in order to start embracing and enjoying our lives outside of work.

I’ve realised that when I slow down and find balance between work and play, my life flows in a beautiful and harmonious way. What we also forget is that healing can also happen in ways we don’t expect, and sometimes we need to let it happen as and when it wants, rather than traying to control the process.

Rushing healing due to comparison

I write a lot about comparison, mainly because I think it’s something that is so sneaky and subtle that many of us don’t ever realise we’re running it in the background.

One of the reasons why we become fixated on healing ourselves is from comparing ourselves and our healing journey with those around us.

In this state, we forget that we are all so unique, with a completely different set of experiences in our lifetime, that there is no possible way that we can ever be on the same timeline as someone else.

And, one of the bigger issues that feeds into comparison, is around our sense of self-worth.

We are all here to remember our perfection, wholeness and worthiness, that is inherent within us all - yet for some of us, the journey to recognising and remembering our wholeness is more protracted and painful.

This is when we can become fixated on what is wrong with us, rather than embracing the divinity that is within us. It is almost like a belief that “when I fix myself, I will feel worthy” yet the irony of this belief is that it’s the worthiness that needs our needs love and attention, and that there is nothing truly to fix.

When we have a drive to heal in order to become a better version of ourselves, we don’t realise that we are forgetting to accept and love ourselves exactly as we are.

It may be that we need to face up to the shadow energies within us that create so much deep shame, it could be that we need to release the trauma that keeps us in a place of self-judgement, or it could be that we need to create the space of forgiveness within ourselves, so that we can shift to a higher consciousness, and worthiness, within.

Healing isn’t just about release, it’s about activation

It is a wonderful thing to recognise that healing is the catalyst for change - for it is the inner work that creates shifts and transformations in our outer reality.

It’s when we let go of needing to heal in order to avoid coming back to earth, rushing to heal so we can fulfil our purpose, and forcing healing in order to feel worthy, that we can remember to live, and experience the joy that comes from embracing where we are and who we are, at this point of time in our lives.

Healing not only helps us clear the old layers that no longer serve us, but it does so much more than that.

Healing creates a huge amount of validation and confirmation, that is one of our core human needs. It creates understanding and clarity, helping us to discover deep levels of self-awareness that creates meaningful growth in our lives.

It can also bring deep release, acceptance and peace as we let go of the pain and suffering of the past - so much so that it can feel like a physical burden has been lifted, bringing such sweet lightness in its place.

Lastly, we forget that healing isn’t just about letting go and release, it’s also about activation.

When we only focus on what’s wrong with us, we forget to acknowledge and embrace what is good, true and beautiful within us. This is where healing can feel so deeply empowering - when can truly awaken to our wonder.

Healing isn’t all darkness, pain and reliving past trauma, it is also incredibly freeing, bright and powerful. This has been my experience and I truly hope that it becomes yours too, and if you ever feel like you need some support on your emotional healing journey, I’m right here to help.
